"HALAWAH!" is a joyful Arabic expression similar to
"How Sweet it Is!" Our troupe embodies a marriage of two diverse, vibrant
cultures where East meets West. We view our troupe as a pioneer adventure,
trailblazing a powerful Dance style into the 21st Century.
Troupe
members have attended a variety of Middle Eastern Dance Seminars ranging from
classic Egyptian dance style with renowned Egyptian Instructor, Faten Salama of
Egypt to Turkish dance seminars with nationally recognized Dance Master,
Elizabeth Artemis Mourat. Our members have also individually studied and
instructed other dance forms including ballet, jazz and hula. Group performances
are scheduled at Washington DC Metro Area restaurants, ethnic festivals and
community events.
Performances available are tailored to satisfy our
audiences and include Arabic as well as Turkish dance flavors among our
repertoire. We invite you to join us at local performances where our ancient
dance is launched into the 21st Century with a sparkling energy solidly based in
classic, tasteful style.
